Incorporated in May 1998, Long Investment (Mauritius) Ltd (LI (M)) Ltd was initially issued a Pioneer Financial Development Certificate to provide Investment Management Expertise Services by the Ministry of Finance in December 1998. However, with the permission of the Financial Services Commission, LI (M) Ltd opted instead to carry on its operations exclusively with a Distribution of Financial Products Licence pursuant to Section 14 of the Financial Services Act 2007 and the Financial Services (Consolidated Licencing and Fees) Rules 2008 with effect from May 2003. LI (M) Ltd has had its own office in Mauritius since May 2003.
As the Principal and Registered Distributor of Alternative and Traditional Investment Funds, LI (M) Ltd forms part of the Long Investment Management Group which is one of the longest-running Asian multi-strategic hedge funds, founded in 1995, by Mr George Long originally under the name of Long Investment Management Ltd (LIM).
The firm is based in Hong Kong and has wide regional coverage, with additional research offices in Tokyo, Beijing, and London. A pioneer in Asian alternative and traditional investments, Mr Long has more than 30 years of experience in Asia and globally. As of January 31, 2015 LIM Group manages USD 2 billion across four Alternative Investment Funds Assets.
